Friant Interra · Frame & tile
Friant Interra: every finish, one system
A premium frame-and-tile workstation system — fabric, glass, whiteboard, and metal, mixed exactly where your floor needs them.

Most panel systems make you pick one look and repeat it across the floor. Friant describes Interra as “a modern frame and tile system… offering infinite design variations” — one system that puts acoustic fabric where it’s loud, glass where you want daylight, and a writable surface where the team actually works.
What Interra actually is
Interra is built on a 2.5″ thin-profile frame with a stackable design for clean assembly. Onto that frame you spec tiles — segment by segment, seat by seat — so the whole floor runs on one system, one install, and one power backbone.
The tile menu
- Fabric — acoustical and tackable, for quiet and for pinning things up
- Glass — for borrowed light and a more open feel
- Whiteboard — a writable working surface right at the desk
- Tool rail — to hang and organize off the panel
- Perforated metal — for a more technical, industrial look
Tiles come in the full range of Friant fabrics plus COM (your own material), over three frame paint finishes.

One system, tuned seat by seat
This is the real reason to spec Interra: a single workstation can carry a tackable fabric base, a whiteboard at working height, and a glass segment up top for borrowed light — and the next station over can be tuned differently, without becoming a different product. You get the varied, premium look of a designed floor with the pricing, install, and support simplicity of one manufacturer and one system.
FRIANT NOVO
- Panel-based: monolithic or segmented
- Finish is built into the panel
- Clean, continuous look
- Great for consistent workstation floors
FRIANT INTERRA
- Frame + tiles, specified per segment
- Mix acoustics, glass, and writable surfaces
- Tuned seat by seat at design time
- Great for premium, varied floors
Power and data, same backbone
Like Novo, Interra carries power in the base: a pre-installed 8-wire, four 20-amp circuit system, floor or ceiling connectivity, and a large 5″ × 2.5″ base with high cable lay-in — up to about 70 Cat 5 cables in a powered base and up to 100 in a non-powered base, with beltline and base power options.

The long-view details
Interra is CARB compliant with water-based, non-toxic, low-emission adhesives, rated up to 75% recyclable and up to 47% recycled content, may contribute to LEED points, and carries Friant’s Limited Lifetime Warranty to the original owner.
So when do you choose Interra?
If you want the premium, mixed-material look — acoustics, daylight, and writable surfaces placed deliberately across the floor — Interra is the system that does it without juggling multiple products. If you want one clean, fixed look across a floor of identical workstations, Novo is often the simpler call. Send us the plan and we’ll tell you, honestly, which one your project wants.
Frequently asked
What is the Friant Interra system?
Interra is a frame-and-tile workstation system from Friant, built on a 2.5-inch thin-profile frame with snap-in tiles — fabric, glass, whiteboard, tool rail, and perforated metal — available in three frame paint finishes and the full range of Friant fabrics plus COM.
Can one Friant Interra workstation mix different materials?
Yes. Tiles are specified per segment, so a single Interra panel can carry a tackable fabric base, a whiteboard at working height, and a glass segment up top for borrowed light — all within one system.
What is the difference between Friant Interra and Novo?
Novo is panel-based — the finish (monolithic or segmented) is built into the panel for a clean, consistent look. Interra is a frame with tiles chosen per segment, so one floor can mix fabric, glass, whiteboard, and metal in a single premium system.
Does Friant Interra have power and data options?
Yes. Interra carries a pre-installed 8-wire, four 20-amp circuit system with floor or ceiling connectivity and high cable lay-in — up to about 70 Cat 5 cables in a powered base and up to 100 in a non-powered base, with beltline and base power options.
