How Demountable Walls Are Priced

There's no sticker price on office walls — there's a spec. Here's what's in your number and what moves it.

"What does a demountable wall cost?" is the first question every buyer asks — and the honest answer is that there's no sticker price. Walls are configured, not stocked. Your number is built from a handful of real choices and then quoted from current manufacturer pricing on your exact specification.

What's in your number

  • NxtWall panels — solid, glass, or a combination
  • Doors, hinges, leversets, and closers
  • Glass and framed sidelights, where specified
  • Insulation and all connecting hardware
  • Delivery and inbound freight
  • Professional installation and anchoring

What moves the number

Four levers, in roughly the order they swing the price:

  1. Material. Solid, gypsum-style panels are the value end; full glass and glass-and-solid combinations cost more.
  2. Finish grade. Standard laminates and paint versus premium veneers, specialty glass, and custom color carry most of the spread.
  3. Scope. One private office versus a full floor of rooms — more linear footage means more panels, doors, and connections.
  4. Installation. The biggest swing: doors, power and data, ceiling conditions, and a tight or occupied site all add labor.

Why we don't publish a per-foot price

A flat per-foot rule of thumb would only mislead you — the number swings too far between a glass office and a solid one to mean anything. We quote the wall you're actually building, from current NxtWall manufacturer pricing on your configuration, plus installation. Send a floor plan and a finish level and you get a real number, not a range you'd have to second-guess.

Frequently asked

How much do demountable walls cost?

There's no single price — demountable walls are configured to your plan, so cost depends on material (solid vs. glass), finish grade, total linear footage, and installation complexity. A quote is built from current manufacturer pricing on your exact specification.

Why isn't there a per-square-foot price for demountable walls?

Because the price swings widely with glass content, finish, and installation, a single per-foot figure would be misleading. The most accurate number comes from quoting your actual configuration.

What's included in a demountable wall quote?

Typically the panels, doors and hardware, any glass and sidelights, insulation and connecting hardware, delivery and freight, and professional installation.
