We converted a tall-panel cubicle floor onto a new AMQ beam system — repurposing the client's existing height-adjustable sit-stand desks — for an open, collaborative San Diego workspace.

Adjustable-height workstation conversion & open-office transformation
This San Diego team worked in tall-panel cubicles built around aging — but still capable — height-adjustable desks. The layout felt closed-in and dated. Instead of replacing everything, Miramar repurposed the client's existing sit-stand desks and rebuilt them onto a new AMQ beam-based workstation system — keeping the sit-stand ergonomics they already paid for while opening the floor into a modern, collaborative workspace.
Rather than buy all-new, we developed a cost-effective plan that integrated the existing desks into the new AMQ beam platform. The floor gained lower-profile stations, open sightlines, more natural light, and a more collaborative feel — a real workplace upgrade that maximized the value of furniture the client already owned.

Why reuse beat replace
The smart move wasn't all-new furniture — it was a better layout
The desks already worked. What the floor really needed was a better plan. So the investment went where it counted — a new open beam system and a smarter layout — while the height-adjustable desks the client had already bought stayed in service.
Kept the ergonomics they paid for
The existing height-adjustable bases still raised and lowered perfectly. Reusing them meant the team kept the sit-stand benefit they were already accustomed to.
Budget went to the layout, not duplicate desks
Instead of repurchasing desks that already worked, the budget went into the new AMQ beam platform, privacy screens, and the space planning that opened up the floor.
Less torn out, less hauled away
Reconfiguring around furniture the client already owned meant fewer good desks in a dumpster and a cleaner path to a finished, modern workspace.
